Data were accumulated from a combination of museums, institutions, personal collections, and valid literature. Locality data for all specimen records, in decimal degrees, were obtained either directly on site with GPS units or georeferenced from museum label data using Acme Mapper 2.2 (http://mapper.acme.com).
Four species were studied across the southern and central Appalachian Mountain region.
Specimens records were based mainly on the adult stage. Adults were collected with beating sheets, sweep nets, and use of light traps on warm summer evenings.
