Sampling Methods

Specimens records were based on larvae and adults. Larvae were obtained using standard kick-sampling techniques. Adults were collected with beating sheets and sweep nets.

Study Extent Specimen data exists from May 1939 through May 2015.

Method step description:

  1. Data were accumulated from a combination of museums, institutions, personal collections, and valid literature. Locality data for all specimen records, in decimal degrees, were obtained either directly on site with GPS units or georeferenced from museum label data using Acme Mapper 2.1 (http://mapper.acme.com).
