alien_plant_species_ro
To compile a database with invasive and potentially invasive plants species in Romania, we conducted an extensive literature review covering the 1778 – 2018 time-period. The alien_plant_species_ro database comprise 102 alien plant species from Romania covering 41 families (considered invasive and potentially invasive in Romania). There are 42776 occurrence records. The database also includes the native range and pathways of introduction.

プロジェクトデータ
Biological invasions are one of the main drivers of modern human-induced species losses. Management of alien species requires strong transnational policy instruments and effective enforcement from states. EU Member states are required, to map the distribution of alien species of EU concern on their territory, to elaborate and implement actions plans on the pathways for introductions, to put in place an early detection and rapid eradication system, and to implement management measures. To help implementing biodiversity policies at a national-level scale, we propose an innovative spatial prioritization framework for detecting areas with high risk of invasiveness while accounting for bias in mapping alien species diversity through species distribution modeling under climate change scenarios, ecological and social sensitivity of invaded areas, and cost restrictions. To demonstrate our spatial planning approach, we will use alien plant species distribution data. Plant species being among the most problematic invaders due to their dispersal abilities. The main results will be represented by alien plant species distribution models in Romania for present and future projections and maps of high risk of invasiveness. The output of the project will be a flexible and adaptive framework for spatial prioritization of management activities aiming at eradicating or containment of alien species, useful for alien plant species management in Romania.

Method step description:
- Information regarding the occurrence records of alien plant species included in the database was extracted from 1174 published documents. The species taxonomy considered in the present paper is based on GBIF Backbone Taxonomy. The introduction pathways were standardized based on the main categories described in the Convention on Biological Diversity. Georeferenced data were transferred to ArcGIS 10.3 and visually inspected for errors. For the analysis were performed in ArcGIS 10.3 and R 4.2.0.
