Description

In the Naama area in the southwest of Algeria, in the Saharan transition zone The collection of arthropods took place in both fodder and palmar crops for 11 months, from January to November 2022. All together, 72 types of arthropods were named in 11 orders and 5 classes.

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 98 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Study Extent the Southwest Algeria (Naama region)

Method step description:

  1. In this regard, we chose two sites in the region, namely Asla palmary (site 01) and the forage crop (site 02) ). in each session. The sample effort was 110 traps (10 traps 11 months). To minimize over sampling and decrease trap loss, the traps were kept in the field for 24 hours every session. The trapped species were collected in Petri dishes and then labelled with the pot trap number and the date of trapping. Moreover, the samples were sorted, counted, and ultimately identified based on the photographic documentation of insect morphology, with specimens compared to a dichotomous key guide for insects.
