Cobertura Geográfica
The sampling covered 100 sites in 14 water systems flowing through Kitakyushu City. Kitakyushu City is the core area of the Kitakyushu Industrial Zone, one of the four major industrial zones in Japan, with a population of approximately 900,000 people, and is an area where the river environment has deteriorated significantly due to urbanization. As a basic knowledge for the conservation and restoration of river ecosystems, we conducted an understanding of the fish fauna in Kitakyushu City over a wide area.

The species found belonged to the following orders: Cypriniformes (15 species), Perciformes (12 species), Siluriformes (3 species), Anguilliformes (1 species), Beloniformes (1 species), Mugiliformes (1 species), and Osmeriformes (1 species). The families were Cyprinidae (12), Gobiidae (6 species), Cobitidae (3 species), Centrarchidae (2 species), Adrianichthyidae (1 species), Amblycipitidae (1 species), Anguillidae (1 species), Bagridae (1 species), Channidae (1 species), Lateolabracidae (1 species), Mugilidae (1 species), Odontobutidae (1 species), Osmeridae (1 species), Siluridae (1 species), and Sinipercidae (1 species).

Métodos de Amostragem
The fish survey was conducted using a pulsed DC Smith-Root Model LR-24 backpack electrofisher (Smith-Root Inc., Vancouver, WA, U.S.A.) at each habitat (rapid, run, pool, glide, slack, and backwater) of the 100 stations.
