Description
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 6 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
Versions
The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Sampling Methods
Approximately 5-cm-long pieces of aquatic plants (mainly Ceratophyllum demersum L. and Azolla filiculoides subsp. cristata (Kaulf.) Fraser-Jenk.) were placed in a Petri dish containing water from the sampling site and examined for sessile rotifers under a stereo microscope (Olympus SZ40) equipped with an additional 2X zoom lens.
| Study Extent | only one artificial pond. |
|---|---|
| Quality Control | Taxonomic identification of rotifers was performed by Phuripong Meksuwan. Georeferenced data were checked by plotting coordinates on a map. The aquatic plants were identified based on e-Flora of Thailand (Forest Herbarium 2019) and the World Checklist of Vascular Plants (Govaerts 2024). |
Method step description:
- When a sessile rotifer was observed, fine forceps (No.5) were used to cut the plant fragment on both sides of the attachment site. The plant fragment bearing the attached rotifer was then transferred onto a glass slide containing a drop of water from the sampling site. The preparation was covered with a squared coverslip supported by small pieces of plasticine at the four corners to prevent compression of the specimen. All sessile rotifer specimens encountered during the identification process were identified alive under a compound microscope (Nikon Eclipse E200).
