Description

This occurrence dataset documents snakes recorded on Ko Pha-ngan, Surat Thani Province, Thailand, during the formal study period from February 2021 through September 2023. Records were generated through transect surveys, drift-line fence traps and opportunistic encounters. The occurrence core preserves individual source observations with available dates and coordinates, while the accompanying analysis summary reproduces the 171 detections reported in the associated manuscript.

Sampling Methods

The occurrence core includes individual source observations retained from the manuscript Materials data after restriction to the formal study interval. The analytical summary contains the separate 171-detection dataset used for habitat and detection-method summaries in the manuscript.

Study Extent Ko Pha-ngan, Surat Thani Province, Thailand; formal analytical study interval February 2021 to September 2023.

Method step description:

  1. Snakes were documented using visual transect surveys, drift-line fence traps and opportunistic encounters. Surveys were conducted approximately twice weekly across 32 transects representing human settlement, human-disturbed forest and national park forest. Nine drift-line fence traps were deployed from February 2022 and checked daily during their operational periods.
