Geographic Coverage

Solanum baretiae is apparently endemic to the Amotape-Huancabamba zone of southern Ecuador and northern Peru and grows in the understory of montane forests and disturbed roadside and pasture vegetation, 1900–3000 m in elevation. The areas where S. baretiae has been collected are seasonally dry.
