Kamogawa River is located on the northern part of Kyushu Island, which is one of four mainlands of Japan. A survey on aquatic animals of Kamogawa River Basin was carried out, as well as taking the photographs.

Sampling Methods

The aquatic animal distribution was surveyed by electric fishing and direct field observation including snorkeling.

Study Extent The surveys were carried out from 2014 to 2018 in aquatic environments within the Kamogawa River Basin, Fukuoka, Japan.

Method step description:

  1. The aquatic animal distribution was surveyed by electric fishing and direct field observation (including snorkeling).
  2. Specimens/observation were photographed on site.
  3. Specimens/observation were given IDs and identified to species.
  4. The data/photos were registered to a local database.
